School Board Member Training
Section 10-16a of the School Code (105 ILCS 5/10-16a) establishes training requirements for school board members. The law requires that the training be conducted by “an association established under Article 23 of the School Boards (IASB) or entities that the State Board approves in consultation with IASB.” We are approved by the Illinois State Board of Education to provide such training.
Similarly, all current Illinois charter school board members, and any board members in their first year of service must complete a minimum of four hours of professional development leadership training, and an additional two hours in every subsequent year of their term. We approved to provide this training as well.
